Ed Boyden - SynBioBeta 2020

Ed Boyden is Y. Eva Tan Professor in Neurotechnology at MIT, and was selected to be an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His group at MIT develops tools for analyzing and repairing complex biological systems such as the brain, and applies them to reveal ground truth principles of biological function as well as to repair these systems. He has received the Gairdner Award and the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences, and is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences.
